Book Review : Suddenly One Summer by Julie James

My Rating : *4 Stars*

Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn’t mean she’s opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister’s case, she’s as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford…

Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He’s willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there’s no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…

For me till this date “It happened  one wedding” is my favorite Julie James book, well yes I loved that book tremendously! So 4 stars to this book.

And like all her other books, this book is also well written with smart or quirky dialogues, sassy heroine, sexy hero who himself is very smart and protective and the characters have a really good chemistry between them.

I loved the banter between them and you know what? I would actually love to live in the world that is created by Julie James, where people make sarcastic comments all the time and no one get offended , but also respond back with a sarcastic comment. Women are strong and passionate. Men are sexy, smart, supportive and protective. Wow!

Characters :

As envisioned by the author!

Ford is funny, smart and lovable guy, though in the beginning he tend to be a bit pushy and cocky neighbor, but also he have this soft side of him which hits victoria’s heart. He is an investigative journalist , who truly is good at his work.

Divorce Lawyer, Victoria, is a sassy women, she is a feminist and know how to handle herself and her work. Well, also Victoria is a classy women.

Okay, one thing I would like to say is that I like all the male characters written by Julie, but I always fall in love with the female characters. ❤

So yes I liked this book and had a great time while reading it!

Good way to spend a summer evening.

And I recommend this book to all the people who love to read romance, because this book have a good dose of romance and some hot scenes, which you’ll surely enjoy.

So if you need a book with low drama and a book that is an engaging read, go for it!

Enough said? I guess.

Now go give it a read!

Well , I want to add this song which I’m kind of addicted to these days, and that is “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys and guess who is responsible? Victoria!
