“It’s a crazy thing…revenge. It can cause a man to make so many reckless decisions. The thing about it is, once you start something, you better be prepared to face the consequences.”

Seven days have passed since Naples real estate agent Megan MacKenna has heard from her twin sister, Madeline, who was vacationing on the beautiful, Caribbean island of St. Croix. Though authorities are not convinced there is a case to solve, Megan knows with all of her heart something happened to Maddy. When Megan receives a direct warning to leave the island or end up like her sister, she turns to the only person who has taken her seriously since she arrived, Gabe, a breakfast cook at a local diner. Undercover DEA agent, Gabriel Walker has been building his cover for months, waiting for the opportunity to work his way into the infamous Torrez crime ring. When Megan shows up asking questions and Gabe realizes her twin’s disappearance might be linked to the Torrez men, he has to convince her to go back to Florida before she becomes their next victim. The closer Megan gets to the truth, the more Gabe begins to suspect he is missing a huge piece of the puzzle. And someone is closing in on Megan…
Writers are badass people! They keep their vulnerability aside and lead a character from one extreme point to another, right?
You read a story of a hero killing the bad people, saving someone from being a victim and finally ending with the girl who he wanted to protect while keeping his life at stake. Ahh!
After all we are talking about fiction, it’s all about escaping our real life. So, here it is, Last Vacation, a story of people who risked their life to save the people whom they loved. Yay! It’s a story of revenge, attraction, risk and love.
I loved the ending!
When I started reading it I was bit
anxious, I didn’t know what to expect. However, once I started reading it, I couldn’t stop. The question ‘What will happen next?’ kept me glued to this book.
I really liked the story and guess what was my favorite part? The whole book 😀
I also liked the characters even though at time I was bit confused with so many names all at once.
The plot was really good and the author did a really good work in connecting all the dots and I loved her efforts that she put on those small details.
I adored Gabe, he was a keeper. Indeed he was! I have to admit with few exceptions, I liked the characters. I did like how the characters progressed and how the writer unfolded the story. It was full of mystery, crime, torture and some romance. I did feel the connection between Gabe and Megan, also between both the twins. They had love.
You will ask why 4 stars?
Some parts I was not a big fan of.
Overall all I loved the book! I will definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read and a page turner that you won’t be able to put down.
